The food here is outstanding and the atmosphere is very homely and comfortable. I would recommend a visit but the only negative I would have is that some of the staff stand around and appear to be chatting, gossiping, which is not a great look for a business. The phone was ringing off the hook when we visited and nobody picked it up but had a few members of staff standing at the desk, which is clear why nobody picked up when we attempted to call the previous day to confirm our table numbers. Apart from this it is well worth a visit!
An absolute gem. Some of the best food I've eaten anywhere. All cooked fresh from scratch, and very well priced.
A home from home atmosphere, with excellent service.
I cannot recommend it enough.
Love this place, food is amazing.. friendly staff good atmosphere and decor.
Steak is amazing and the peppercorn sauce I've never had one so full of flavour!
The satay chicken curry is also a film favourite of mine aswel!
Good selection of beers/ ales too.
Parking gets a bit tight round 6pm but there is plenty of spaces on the road to park.

Burgers are very nice, soup very tasty.
Breaded brie wedges are amazing!!!
I came here to celebrate by partners birthday on a Saturday evening. The atmosphere was amazing. For a Saturday it was busy without feeling too crowded or rowdy. Tables were nicely spread apart so it didn't feel like we were sat on top of the people next to us.
Service was nice and quick, we weren't left waiting long to order and staff were very attentive making sure everything was okay for us.
The standard of food was amazing. We had a pizza each and they were cooked perfectly. There were just enough food options to have a good selection without it being overwhelming.
Meal came to a good price for the standard of food. We can't wait to return again in the summer when we can enjoy food and drink in the garden.
Had an absolutely fab meal here. Picked randomly as an alternative to stopping at motorway services and can't recommend enough. My beef short rib was rich & delicious, my husband had the best gammon he's ever had and the pizza for my daughter was brilliant as well. Service was great & decor is interesting & atmospheric. Would definitely come back!
Really nice experience here. The food was faultless. The service was great and very attentive but not too much like some places. The cocktail menu was nice and varied as was the food menu. I will definitely be returning.
Our first visit here for dinner on a Monday night. The restaurant claims to be wheelchair accessible but it definitely is not. It was very tricky getting my wife who has limited mobility into the restaurant and although there is a wheelchair accessible toilet it is in the bar area which is down a small flight of steps from the restaurant. On a positive note the service and food were excellent. The selection was good with several unique items which were all lovely. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity. The food was hot and tasty. The decor and washroom facilities were all excellent. Overall a very enjoyable evening.
First time to the Malt on Saturday. Lovely food, with reasonable prices, unusual to have quite a range of pizzas, would have liked to see more veggie choices. Service was first rate, with all staff being appropriately attentive. Great wood burners, seating was spaced out so that we didn't have to listen to other diners conversations (mostly!). Would recommend coming!
